My Quote to live by:
" Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit however, it will last forever."
-Lance Armstrong
My Ames Memory:
It was my 10th grade year and, as you can imagine from the picture, it was Prom season. It was my first year at AMES and I was just getting to know the new routines and all the many new people. One of those people was a funny, interesting kid by the name of Carson Brock. I had met him in my 9th grade year at ironically an AMES dance and did not officially get to know him until about our 10th grade year. The story that leads up to this picture is a rather long story and one of my personal favorites, but won't be the one that I am about to share with you today.
It was a rather normal day here at AMES when it happened. I was sitting were I normally sat in the Skunkworks area, waiting for my classes to start. I was talking to some friends until I saw one of them point to the doorway of the place. I look over and I see Lane, one of my other close friends at the time, Holding a big, white sign with my name scribbled on in big purple letters, telling me to go to Millers room, and to hurry. So I ended up following my friend to all these different classrooms with many different poster boards taking me practically all over the school until the last and final one took me to the big, main art room. It wasn't until I got there that I actually turned around and noticed a huge parade of people who were all cheering me on, pulling their phones out and talking excitedly amungst themselves and who had apparently been following me from classroom to classrooms. I open the doors to the art room and there this kid was, sitting on top of the tables with a silly little crown on his head holding the last poster board.
Needless to say my Sophomore Prom was an undeniable success!
